The image was created in 1935 by Mother Margaret Mary Nealis r.s.c.j. (1876- 1957). Called "Stella Matutina," Latin for Morning Star; the image depicts the Blessed Mother as a young child in prayer surrounded by Lilies (symbolic of purity) with the lone Morning Star shining brightly in the dawn sky.
