SACRED HEART BADGE

The Sacred Heart Badge can be traced all the way back to St Margaret Mary Alocoque's visits from Jesus during which He created the devotion to His Sacred Heart, some 325 years ago. Jesus revealed that He wanted to have everyone carry a small image of his Sacred Heart with them. Thus the devotional badge was born.

The Sacred Heart Badge was presented to Blessed Pope Pius IX in 1870, and he exclaimed, “This is an inspiration from Heaven. Yes, from Heaven,” and proceeded to grant the badge a blessing for all time so that subsequent badges need never be re-blessed by a priest. He then added, “and I want Satan to be unable to cause any harm to those who wear this badge.”

It's so easy to slip this small piece of material, sealed in a soft plastic case, in a pocket or purse to have it with you always. The benefits can be big. Why not take the advice of Pope Pius IX?
